TC-266
3-5 lb. VARIABLE DENSITY, FLEXIBLE FOAM

TC-266 is a two-component, flexible polyurethane foam. The cured material feels similar to a soft furniture cushion. BJB’s 6800 Series Pigments may be added to the “B” side for developing a wide range of colors. End users can adjust firmness with a slight ratio change as listed below. Common applications are prototypes, prosthetics, medical training devices, movie special effects props and more. This material is frequently molded behind BJB’s flexible polyurethanes.
Notes:
- TC-266 at a ratio of 50/100 pbw produces a soft, open cell, quick recovery foam with a density of 3 pounds. At 30/100 pbw, the result will be a softer, open cell, slower recovery foam with a density of 5 pounds.
- It is recommended that foam parts be crushed or squeezed after demolding to remove residual gases remaining in the cell structure. This will help to reduce post shrinkage and aid in reducing natural odors from the foam part.
- Density is based off of free-rise, unrestricted samples. Typical castings in a closed mold with back pressure will increase density and reduce expansion rate. This will often require up to 1.5 to 2.5 times more foam than theoretical calculated amount of foam for a given volume and mold shape/goemetry. Also temperature of liquid foam, relative humidity, and mixing technique (hand stirred vs jiffy mix with a drill) will also affect expansion rate of foam.
