SC-5003 Platinum Silicone Accelerator

SC-5003 is a Platinum Silicone (Addition Cure) accelerator agent that can be used with BJB’s range of platinum-based silicones. It is designed to reduce cure time to demold parts and/or molds faster. It is also useful in brushed on silicone molds to help reduce the time between layer applications and prevent excess material sag due to quicker gel time. SC-5003 is extremely potent so use only small amounts (typically 1%-2% parts by weight).

SC-5003 works in platinum (addition cure) silicones. DO NOT use in Tin (Condensation Cure) silicone materials.

• 1% - typically reduces worktime by half (example 45 minute work time is reduced to 20-30 minutes)               
• 2% - typically reduces worktime by 2/3 (example 30 minute work time is reduced to 10 minutes)                      

NOTE: Always run a small sample prior to adding SC-5003 to a larger batch to determine the optimal working time in your application. Failure to run a test can result in large quantities of silicone gelling faster than expected and wasting material. Adding more than 2% of SC-5003 can potentially lower the physical properties of the silicone. Please contact BJB technical assistance if you need further help and guidance
